The Shoreby Club is a private lakefront mansion built in 1890, sitting directly on the Lake Erie shoreline in the village of Bratenahl — just east of Downtown Cleveland. Twenty-five rooms, a newly constructed Sunset Pavilion, five private guest suites with expansive water views, and grounds that deliver on the promise of a truly lakeside wedding.
This is a member-owned private club, which means the guest experience operates at a different standard than a commercial venue. In-house catering, in-house bar, and an event staff that treats the property like a home rather than a rental. The result is a wedding day that feels genuinely elevated rather than just expensive.
The Sunset Pavilion is the crown of the property — a modern addition that holds up to 250 guests for reception and dancing with full views of the lake. Ceremonies happen on the terrace with Lake Erie as the ceremony backdrop, or in the cozy library for more intimate gatherings. We've worked here and know exactly what the morning requires.

- 01Five suites means parallel timelinesWe use the multi-suite setup aggressively. With five separate rooms available, we can run more than one stylist simultaneously, compress the morning timeline, and give the bride genuine separation and quiet while the party finishes up.
- 02Lake Erie humidity is realEvery product choice we make at Shoreby Club accounts for the proximity to water. Long-hold, humidity-resistant formulas as default. Setting products sealed before anyone walks outside. This is standard for us — not an upcharge.
- 03The sunset light is extraordinaryThe western lake exposure means afternoon and golden hour light at Shoreby Club is genuinely stunning. We time the bridal party completion to take advantage of the pre-ceremony light window. If your ceremony is at 5pm, your portraits will be exceptional.
- 0435 minutes from CopleyBratenahl sits just east of Downtown Cleveland, about 35 minutes from our Copley studio under normal conditions. We build in buffer and always arrive ahead of contracted start time.
